Raquel Wong, LMT, Master Esthetician
Guest Instructor
Raquel began in 2008 with esthetics and skin care, and she quickly discovered she was talented at massage while performing facials and body treatments. Four years into her esthetics career, she got the longed-for opportunity to teach esthetics in a beauty school.
A seven-year stretch as an instructor followed, spanning two states. During this time, Raquel was nationally recognized by the NCEA (National Coalition for Estheticians and Associates) when she received the prestigious award for Excellence in Esthetics Education in 2017.
That same year, she finally acquired her massage license, graduating from Northwest Academy of the Healing Arts. A cosmetology license followed soon after. Raquel, feeling sufficiently well-rounded, has now steered her focus on massage and bodywork and provided quality education to fellow bodyworkers.
Her passions include studying the effects of massage on the nervous system, working with chronic pain, and treating the head, neck, and TMJ conditions. As a massage educator, she prioritizes evidence-based education. She brings her previous teaching experience that includes facilitating clear communication and providing a safe learning environment to diverse practitioners with different learning styles.
